Winnipeg weighing pros and cons of turf pesticides following loosening of restrictions

While restrictions on the use of cosmetic pesticides have been loosened in Manitoba, the City of Winnipeg is weighing the pros and cons of previously banned chemical products. The city’s community services committee has commissioned a report about phasing in pesticide use on parks and boulevards. One city councillor told council he’s heard concerns from constituents about allergies they experience when dandelions go to seed.
